Any lost shoot represents a loss in the amount of fruit a vine can bear. The fallout will not be known for months, how to grow concord grapes when its time to harvest the grapes. Another factor that could be negatively affected is the price of wine. Winery owners may have to purchase grapes from other vineyards to stay on target with production.

Beaujolais Villages refers to wine produced in a certain area within the larger wine-growing region. Production is more tightly regulated, and the potential for quality is higher. Thanks to big-name producers like Georges DuBoeuf , Louis Latour , and Louis Jadot , you can find a very tasty Villages for less than $15 any day of the week. What's tougher to find at that price point is the top of the line: Cru Beaujolais. Crus are produced from grapes grown in individual villages or areas designated as highest quality in the region. They're almost always called by just the name of their specific spot. I usually see them at $17 and above, but today we are in luck: this one from Brouilly is just under our $15 mark. Snap this up!
